A New Way on Energy

Like all of us, Charlie Copeland feels the impact rising energy costs have on working families and knows the best solutions are those that will provide a new way on energy at the same time they provide an economic boost to our state and families.

A strong believer in the promise of alternative energy solutions, Charlie’s own home is installed with solar panels that reduce energy consumption by 30%; his home also receives an additional 50% of his “from-the-grid” energy from wind power.

As a State Senator, he has continued this commitment as a key sponsor of the 2005 Senate Bill 74 to establish a renewable energy portfolio standard for Delaware. He was also a prime sponsor of legislation establishing the country’s first sustainable energy utility in Delaware that will significantly reduce carbon emissions from Delaware businesses and citizens for decades to come.

Charlie also recognizes that “going green” can mean more than just clean energy for Delaware – it can mean better jobs and more money for working families as we attract the industries and employers of tomorrow to our state today.
