Schools That Work

Like parents and taxpayers across our state, Charlie Copeland is tired of a public education system that doesn’t provide results for children but year-after-year continues to claim the solution is just “more money.” Obviously, money alone is not the answer – a different approach is needed.

Charlie believes there is no reason that our public schools cannot perform as well as our private schools – and he wants to make sure they do. That’s why he has been a strong supporter of Charter Schools that work in our public education system framework, restore educational decision-making power to parents, and increase competition to ensure accountability and results. Charlie is also a believer in school choice to foster that same competition and accountability.

Charlie also knows the important role teachers play in educating children. He knows that it is a bloated education bureaucracy that stifles creative teaching and prevents education dollars from reaching the classroom. That’s why he will work for initiatives that put money back into the classroom and give local teachers, parents and administrators a greater say in the education of their children. Charlie will also fight to ensure that quality teachers are recognized while those teachers who have lost interest or can’t perform are brought up-to-speed to better help our children.
